Two sides connected by complex multi-layered relations and the Volkhov River, which, overflowing, changes the look of the city and the way of life of its citizens.

Small blocks of glass bricks are integrated into the monolithic masonry of the museum’s southern walls.
During the day, they provide a neutral atmosphere for exhibition purposes, preserving localized light accents along the perimeter, while the northern volume is completely transparent for light penetration into the work and study areas.
